Ground Breakers

South Sudan is the youngest country in the world — and one of the most impoverished. In Leer County, Unity State, children go to school in buildings that become bombing targets because they're the only permanent structures for miles.
There are no libraries.
School supplies take up to six months to arrive by boat up the Nile River. And yet, three students from the schools Alabaster supports just placed in the top 10 on the national exam. During exam week, the area was bombed. They sat the exam anyway.
This summer, we're raising $200,000 to reach 40 more schools just like theirs.
