Our Future

Our future is bright because the communities we serve show us how to persevere and innovate every day!

Here’s what lies ahead of us:

Kenya

  • By 2027, we aim to scale Enset cultivation through our Enset Ambassador Program to 1000 new female smallholders in semi arid and arid lands in Kenya, introducing Enset as a brand new food security source to households impacted by drought-fueled famine
  • This will enable the development of 1000 new female entrepreneurs leveraging Enset products as an additional source of income
  • We will establish 200 new women-owned Enset-based businesses, particularly in Kajiado and Turkana counties.

South Sudan

  • By 2027 we aim to scale our Youth for Trees Initiative to three additional schools in South Sudan planting a total of 1000 trees throughout Leer County, which will yield over 250,000 fruits per year once matured, and approximately 60 metric tons of CO₂ sequestered annually
  • By 2028, we aim to build the first-ever community library in Leer County benefiting over 5000 students and increase our essential school supply distribution to 10,000 students

Ethiopia

  • By 2027, we aim to strengthen the Enset value chain in Ethiopia through the establishment of 10 new women-owned Enset businesses and construction of 3 new Enset processing sites in northern Ethiopia
  • By 2028, we aim to scale our EnsetAI mobile application to 5,000 female smallholders through the Enset Ambassador Program to promote the cultivation of Enset in new regions throughout Ethiopia
  • By 2028, we aim to scale Enset agroforestry systems utilizing carbon financing to 20,000 new farming households in Ethiopia, impacting 100,000 people
